Jean M. Smith, 90, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, November 04, 2017 at a local care center.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the directions of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Jean was born January 28, 1927 in Smithland, Iowa, the daughter of Relton Cory and Ina Harmsen and was raised by her mother and step-father Ina and Clyde Owens.
She married Glenn Smith on September 1, 1945 in South Sioux City, NE. Glenn preceded her in death on August 25, 1973 in Sioux City. Jean worked for Zenith TV and at the Hilton Garden Inn. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, yardwork, and raising her big family.
Jean is survived by her daughter Geraldine Winston of Vancouver, WA; Six grandchildren; sisters: Darlene Britton of Sioux City and Delores Young of Hardwood, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and four sons: Glenn “Dan”, Clifford, Merle, and David.
