Janet E. Doyle, 74, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. Abiding by her wishes, her body has been cremated and no local services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Janet was born the daughter of Arthur and Faith (Norton) Holtz on June 18, 1943 in LeMars, Iowa. She married Donald Doyle on August 9, 1963 in Luverne, Minnesota. Janet worked at Yonkers and several other clothing retail jobs for many years. She was also her husband’s page in politics while he was in the House of Representatives. She enjoyed politics and the years spent helping her husband. They enjoyed their frequent traveling during his time in the Senate. The family would like to thank Embassy Rehab & Care Center and the ICU nurses at St. Luke’s Hospital for taking wonderful care of Janet. Janet is survived by three brothers, Marvin (Brenda) Holtz of Lawton, Lewis Holtz of Sioux City, and Jim (Delphine) Holtz of Rochester, Minnesota; five sisters, Mary Jane Norton of Sioux City, Carol (Dan) Gazinski of Omaha, Nebraska, Darlene Vick of Litchfield, Minnesota, Judy Diller of Litchfield, Minnesota, and Betty Ahlf of South Sioux City, Nebraska; step-daughter, Shannon (Rob) Bathurst of Bismarck, North Dakota; seven grandchildren, Zachary (Michaela) Doyle-Wren, Michael Sturgeon, William Stewart, Mark Peterson, Sarah Peterson, Grant Bathurst, and Grace Bathurst; sister-in-law, Donna Holtz of LeMars; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers, Arthur, Allyn, Bob, Dale, Harlan, Melvin, and Jon; and two sisters-in-law, Dolores and Vicki.
