Craig L. Burris, 64, of Sioux City died October 11, 2017, at his residence following a brief illness.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a prayer service at 11 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City.
Craig Lewis, the son of Wayne and Lucille (Pomerico) Burris, was born June 20, 1953 in Sioux City. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1971. Following high school, he attended two years of technical school.
Craig moved to Phoenix, AZ then Ft. Lauderdale, FL and moved back to Sioux City in 1991. Craig was an electrician and a member of the Local and International IBEW.
On July 24, 1992, Craig married Linda Treptow and they were married for twenty-four years.
Craig was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed Harleys, the New York Yankees and Notre Dame. He had a passion for music and attended many concerts over the years. Above all, he loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his two nieces, his step daughter and her children.
Craig is survived by one sister, Kristi Engle; two nieces: Nicole Engle of St. Paul, MN and Natalie Engle of McCook Lake, SD; Linda Burris; one step daughter, Emily (Corey) Ainsworth of Omaha, NE; two step grandchildren: Carter and Olivia Ainsworth; one aunt, Sandy Borchers of Gravois Mills, MO; special cousins: Doug Brienzo and Rick Pomerico; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
