Shirlee Elaine Mogensen

Shirlee Elaine Mogensen, 88, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 in Sergeant Bluff. Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery at a later date.
Shirlee was born the daughter of Charles and Genevieve (Halverson) McClary on October 13, 1928 in Sioux City, Iowa. She married Gene R. Mogensen on November 19, 1949 at Morningside Lutheran Church. They lived in Sergeant Bluff their entire married life where she and her husband farmed. Gene passed away July 15, 2005.
Shirlee enjoyed going with family and friends to WinnaVegas and she always won.

Shirlee is survived by three children, Dennis (Jane) Mogensen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cherie Mogensen of Mesa, Arizona, and David (LouAnn) Mogensen of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; one sister, Maxine Petersen of Hartley, Iowa; five grandchildren, Joel, Becky, Jacob, Aimee, and Dane; three great-grandchildren, TJ, Kendall, and Gracie; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; two brothers; and three sisters.
