Sterling D. McInnis, 87, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sterling was born the son of Hector and Vera (Hendricks) McInnis on December 4, 1929 in Alcester, South Dakota. After graduation, he honorably served in country in the United States Air Force. Sterling married Norma “Pat” Trobaugh on November 8, 1974 in Elk Point, South Dakota.
Sterling was a foreman in shipping and receiving at Interbake Foods for more than thirty years.
He enjoyed reading, being outdoors, and tinkering on things. He loved his music and recorded several songs with his guitar which he’s played since age 11.
Sterling is survived by his wife, Norma “Pat” McInnis of Sioux City and a large loving family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Brady.
