Doris E. Walker

Doris E. Walker, 92, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Word of Life Ministries (1478 Buchanan Ave.) in Sioux City. Doris was born on February 28, 1925 in Sioux City, the daughter of Jim and Josephine (Carr) Mack. Doris graduated from Smithland High School. She moved to Sioux City where she married Miles Walker, they later divorced. She returned to school and earned a degree in nursing. After retiring from nursing, Doris volunteered in her church’s food ministry and as a senior companion for many years. Survivors include her children: Miles (Joyce) Walker, James (Doreen) Walker, Dody Walker, Lois (Michael) Goltz, David (Roxanna) Walker, Pamela Lang; son-in-law Donald Anderson; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters, Beverly Anderson and Mary Perrin; son Bruce Walker; son-in-law David Lang; great-great-grandson Lennon Kuehn; brother Warren Mack; 2 sisters, Betty Conyers and Ruby Henry; and longtime companion Henry Baum.
