Paul S. Minor, 87, of North Sioux City, South Dakota, passed away, Friday, September 01, 2017. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Paul was born the son of Samuel and Pauline (Rawlings) Minor on October 9, 1929 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The family moved to Union County, South Dakota in 1935. Paul graduated from Jefferson High in 1947 and then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was very proud of his military service. Paul married Margarete Klau on December 8, 1951. The couple had four children.
Paul held various jobs over the years which included farming, trucking, and the packing house.
He was a volunteer firefighter for 16 years. He also served on the Sioux Flood Project Board and was involved in the Siouxland Gem and Mineral Society for many years.
Paul is survived by his wife, Margarete of North Sioux City, South Dakota; two sons, Harry (Barb) Minor of North Sioux City, South Dakota and Jeffrey Minor of Sioux City; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Hans Richard; one daughter, Christel; and one sister, Kathleen.
