Louise C. Fischer-Barger, 82, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. Abiding by her wishes her body has been cremated and there will be no local services held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Louise was born the daughter of Joseph and Alva Louise (Lee) Fischer on June 14, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Heelan in 1954. She spent several years in Chicago, Atlanta, and Jacksonville where she worked teaching CCD religious classes for many years.
As her mother and father’s health began to fail, she returned to Sioux City and kept books for the family business, Better Homes Nursery.
Louise enjoyed her time teaching classes and being a caretaker to her loved ones. She also enjoyed making many friends in each of the places she lived throughout the years.
Louise is survived by one son, Ted and three daughters, Claudette, Mary Beth, and Jennifer; three brothers, Roger (Pat) Fischer, Greg (Sharon) Fischer, and Harry “Tim” (Sam) Fischer; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Ann and her husband, Dick Krommenhoek; and one brother, Mark Fischer.
