Westfield, IA | Van Carl “Butch” Vonder Lieth, 67, of Westfield, IA passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness.
Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Butch was born May 21, 1950 in Sioux City to Henry E. and Alberta J. (Gardner) Vonder Lieth. He graduated from Central High School in 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. On Feb. 10, 1973 he married Coleene M. Peck in Elk Point, SD.
Butch worked for Raskin Packing Co. then as a federal meat inspector until his retirement.
Butch loved classic cars. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Coleene; son, Vance Vonder Lieth of Sioux City; grandson, Jake; brothers, Ken (Donna) Vonder Lieth and Mike (Deb) Vonder Lieth all of Sioux City; sister, Cheryl (Bryon) Anderson of Sioux City; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Paula (Sonny) Lantry; and niece, Heather Vonder Lieth.
