Bruce F. Engle, 84, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, in Sioux City. Memorial Services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Richard Sitzmann will officiate. A private burial will follow. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Bruce F. Engle was born January 8, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of William and Lucille (O’Brien) Engle. Bruce attended Sioux City Catholic Schools including Trinity High School and was a member of the first graduating class of Heelan High School. He married Mary Eleanor Otis October 1952. “Elly” passed away in 1998. He married Dona Moos June 12, 1974. Dona passed away in September 2006. Bruce was a lifelong Sioux City resident, and was employed as a tile setter. In his free time Bruce enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, building and flying model airplanes, watching Iowa Hawkeye football, and spending time with his family. Bruce is survived by his children; Deborah LaFleur and her husband Dan of Jefferson, SD, Joel Engle and his wife Beth of Sparks, NV, Tracy Melvin and her husband Jim of Cheyenne, WY, Patrick Engle and his wife Beth of Sioux City, and Mikolene Engle of Sioux City, brothers; Bill Engle of Kalispell, MT, Paul Engle and his wife Delores of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Engle was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, sister; Joan Whelton, brother; Joseph “Dean” Engle, sisters-in-law; Lucille Engle and Bette Engle, great-grandson; Jonathan Daniel LaFleur. The family would like to thank Hospice of Siouxland and Holy Spirit Nursing home for their care and dedication.
