Madelyn M. (Ciccarello) Krommenhoek, 89, of Sioux City passed way Friday, July 14, 2017 at Westwood Specialty Care. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Madelyn was born June 10, 1928 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Amedio and Angelina (Simone) Ciccarello. She grew up in Sioux City. Madelyn married Melvin E. Gripp and he preceded her in death in 1957. She married Richard W. Kjos, the couple later divorced. Madelyn married Thomas A. Krommenhoek in December of 1971. He preceded her in death in 2000. Madelyn loved to cook and was very creative, artistic, and musically inclined. She loved making new friends.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Kjos and David Kjos both of Sioux City; grandchildren: Kris (Kjos) Morris, Katy Kjos, and Kelly Kjos; a great grandson Jackson Morris; niece Vicki (Rowley) Hawk; great niece Angela (Rea) Wright, great great nephews Michael and Joshua Wright and Raymond, Michael Hawk and great great niece Carrie Hawk; Godchildren: Tony Drake, JoAnn (Drake) Elliott, and Patsy (Nelson) Maaske.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sister Mary Grace, niece Sharon K. Rench-Calfior, and Grandmother Calida (DeSarbo) Simone.
