Jon E. Wiley was born July 8, 1938 in Inglewood, California the son of Roland E. and Hannah Josephine (Nelson) Wiley. Jon attended and graduated from California schools. Jon entered the United States Army on January 28, 1958 in Stockton, California and received his honorable discharge on February 4, 1960 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Jon was employed as an Industrial Electrician for John Morrell and Wells’ Dairy for the last 20 years before his retirement. He married Nancy Kobes May 23, 1980 in Clovis New Mexico.
Jon enjoyed fishing, gardening, building things which included a deck, cat feeder, bird feeders, picnic table along with many other items. He loved to sit on the deck and soak up some sun. While sitting on the deck he enjoyed watching wild life, and birds, and grilling outdoors. He loved to play Domino’s and watch the news and stocks on T.V., loved holidays when family could all be together. Jon enjoyed having one of the cats named “Classy” come out and sit on the table while he watched T.V.; they were buddies all the way. Jon enjoyed life, but most important to him was spending time with his family. Jon was a man who was always there if you needed him and willing to do anything to help. He was a strong man with a strong will. He loved life. He had many friends and coworkers and family who respected him for just being who he was. He will be forever in our hearts; we will carry many beloved memories of him and speak of him often. He’s in a better place now and with no more pain. He is walking with God. We will all miss him, but our memories of him will live on.
