William F. “Bill” James, Jr., 71 of South Sioux City, Nebraska, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Reverend Dr. Marilyn Van Duffelen officiating. A private family interment will be on Saturday, July 29th at the Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the start of the service on Friday. www.meyerbroschapels.com Bill was born on June 22, 1946 in Osmond, Nebraska to William H. and Frances A. James, Sr. He graduated from the South Sioux City Public Schools. Bill continued his education at Western Iowa Technical College in the accounting field and attended a trade school focusing on drafting. He worked for the City of South Sioux City in the Street Department, retiring in 1978. Bill was a full-time Uncle of 3, an avid baseball fan being committed to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was also a proud fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Bill had an extensive knowledge and appreciation of a myriad of musical genres. In his spare-time, Bill was a do-it-yourself handyman being very talented in carpentry.
Bill is survived by his mother Frances of South Sioux City, Nebraska; nephew Rory and his wife Cori James of Athens, Georgia, niece Kortney Barbee of Sioux City; and Nephew Bill Barbee of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Bill was preceded in death by his father in 1987, and sisters Jean Marie James and Kathy Ann James.
