Rolland Lowell Thompson

    Rolland Lowell Thompson, 85 of rural Merrill, IA passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home.
   Memorial services will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd. Visitation with the family present will be from 11:00-12:00 Saturday at the funeral home.     Rolland was born February 23, 1932 in Kingsley, IA; he was the son of Harold P. and Obie (Morgan) Thompson. Rolland attended Union Consolidated High School and then attended (NBT) National Business Training in Sioux City securing a degree in accounting. After graduation, Rolland became the chief accountant at Williams TV and Appliance Company in Sioux City and spent his entire working career with the company.
    On November 17, 1956, Rolland married Lila Montagne in Sioux City. Rolland was a sports fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Lila of Merrill, IA; his children: Rodney Thompson (Sylvia) of Fairfield, CT, Kirt Thompson (Becky) of Sergeant Bluff, IA and Jaylin Thompson of Sioux City; 2 brothers Harold Thompson (Cindy) of Pleasant Hill, IA and Richard Thompson (Kathy) of Marshalltown, IA; 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth Rose Morgan, Kira Lynn Thompson and Shasta Jordan and 4 great grandchildren: Shaylee Rose Morgan, Chloe Juliet Morgan, Alyssa Mae Morgan and Adrianna Jordan.

   Rolland was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Teri Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
