Frieda A. Sullivan

December 8, 1909 — July 24, 2017

Frieda A. (Rizk) Sullivan, 107, of Elkhorn, NE. and formerly of Sioux City passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at her home.

 

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

 

Frieda was born Dec. 8, 1909 in Sioux City to Elias and Jameley (Saab) Rizk. On Oct. 18, 1945 she married Virgil Sullivan also of Sioux City. Together they raised three daughters and a son.

 

Frieda was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to spend summers in Minnesota swimming, fishing, and being with family. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City for many years and then a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, NE until her death. She will be fondly remembered: Our angel that lived, laughed and loved.

 

Survivors include one sister: Rose DeGrasse of San Antonio, TX; her children: Carole (Bob) Wennihan of Cave Creek, AZ, Patty Sullivan (Dr. Jim Horrocks) of Elkhorn, NE, Terry (Kevin) Stork of Elkhorn, NE and Tom (Barb) Sullivan of Battle Lake, MN; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil (Sully); four siblings: Fred Rizk, Josephine Studebaker, Joseph Rizk and Dr. Elmer Rizk.

 

Memorials may be made in her name to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, NE or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
