SIOUX CITY | Norma F. Brotherson, 83, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Touchstone Healthcare Community.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Trimble United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Wall Lake (IA) Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be the hour prior to the service at church. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Norma was born Jan. 10, 1934 in Wall Lake, IA to Lawrence and Wilma (Hess) Hansen. She graduated from Wall Lake in 1952 then moved to Sioux City where she worked at Needham Meat Packing Company.
On May 19, 1957 she married Eugene D. Brotherson in Breda, IA. Together they raised two daughters.
Norma worked for the Sioux City Community School District as a bus assistant for 30 years and retired in 2013.
She was a longtime member of Trimble United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and served as their financial secretary. Norma enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing. Most of all, Norma enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Lori Decena and Lisa Anderson and her husband, John all of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Rowene Roth of Las Vegas, NV; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene who passed away on July 21, 2008; sister, Betty (Ron) Kallsen; and two nieces.
