Loren Irving Jorgensen, 64, of Sergeant Bluff passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Sergeant Bluff United Methodist Church with Pastor John Jorgensen officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. all at the church.
Loren was born September 12, 1952 in Sioux City, the son of Dale and Virginia (Knudson) Jorgensen. He grew up in Sergeant Bluff and graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in 1971. Loren then attended Western Iowan Tech, receiving a Mechanic Degree.
Loren married Inez Searls on October 25, 1975 in Akron, Iowa. To this union four children were born. Loren worked for Terra Industries Inc. for 4 ½ years before leaving to Farm fulltime in 1976. He enjoyed fishing and grilling, but most of all he loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids. Loren was active with the Helping Hands of Sergeant Bluff and a member of the New Life Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Inez Jorgensen of Sgt. Bluff; children: Nick and wife Mara Jorgensen of Sgt. Bluff, Eric and wife Britnee Jorgensen of Ankeny, IA, Karla Jorgensen of Norwalk, IA, and Kayla Jorgensen of West Des Moines, IA; three grandchildren: Charlee, Jace, and Jack; and three brothers: Larry and wife Christine Jorgensen, Leonard and wife Patricia Jorgensen, and Lane and wife Cindy Jorgensen all of Sgt. Bluff, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lance Jorgensen.
