Gregory Lee Deman

Gregory Lee Deman, 63 of Dakota Dunes, SD passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church. There will be a rosary recited by 6:45 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Greg was born January 23, 1954 in Sioux City; he was the son of Andrew and Helen (Atterbury) Deman. Greg grew up in South Sioux City, NE, he attended St. Michael’s Grade School in South Sioux City and Sacred Heart High School in Emerson, NE before graduating from Heelan High School in 1972. Greg graduated from Briar Cliff College in 1976. On November 25, 1978, Greg married Francine M. Kukula in Sioux City.

Greg had a long history with Bekins Moving & Storage/Distribution Center as well as various other companies. He was a long time member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed his involvement in many Catholic and community organizations over the years.

Survivors include his wife Francine of Dakota Dunes, SD; his children: Rev. Shane Deman of Sioux City; Christopher Deman of Scottsdale, AZ; Catie Miltenberger and her husband Cody of Omaha, NE; a grandson Cruz Miltenberger of Omaha; his sister Mary Ann Worrell of Palm Springs, CA.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in law Robert Worrell.

In lieu of flowers, Mass intentions may be offered in Greg’s name or memorials may be given to Bishop Heelan High School.
