Kay M. (Sawyer) Roering-Dean, 73 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at a local nursing facility. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, July 3rd, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a Prayer Service beginning Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. Online condolences may be offered to the family at
www.meyerbroschapels.com Kay was born on June 10, 1944 in Sioux City to Norman J. “Doc” and Goldie (Crouch) Sawyer. She graduated from East High School with the Class of 1962. Kay married Ronald Roering, and to this union, two sons were born, James of Sergeant Bluff and Mark of Des Moines, where he lives with his wife Emily and their three children. Following the dissolution of her first marriage, Kay married Chancy C. Dean on May 7, 1999.
Kay is survived by her husband Chancy of Sioux City, sons James and Mark, step-children Chancy A. Dean of Sioux City and Michelle Dean of Omaha, brother David Sawyer of Lincoln, Nebraska, sister Pam Moore of Everett, Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Michael and Thomas.
