Michael James Morley, 83, of Sioux City, Iowa died Friday, June 23, 2017, at a local care center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City with Father Brent Lingle, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Michael James Morley, son of Martin and Viola (Flanagan) Morley, was born March 5, 1934 in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Michael grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1952. He worked various jobs in Sioux City which included Wincharger, Sioux City Foundry and Sioux Tools. He enjoyed bowling and caring for his vegetable and flower gardens. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards with them.
Michael was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City and during his working years a member of IAM Union.
Michael is survived by two brothers and four sisters: Richard (Judy) Morley of Sioux City, IA, Donald Morley of Chicago, IL, Avon McKnight of Sioux City, IA, Mary Ellen Burgett of Albuquerque, NM, Virginia Rohmiller of Sioux City, Iowa and Karen Oullette of Springfield, MN; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Morley; and three sisters: Dorothy Womack, Viola Ballinger and Gloria Mueller.
Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
