Jeffrey Marc Cox, 65, of Sioux City, Iowa died Monday, June 19, 2017, at a local care center.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Morningside Lutheran Church, 700 S. Martha St., in Sioux City with Rev. Darrin Vick officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Jeffrey Marc Cox, son of Marc and Marvel (Kohlhoff) Cox, was born March 4, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa. Jeff grew up in Sioux City and attended New Hope Center. After attending New Hope Center, Jeff made his home with his parents’ and then moved to Glenwood, Iowa for ten years. He returned to Sioux City and made his home at Park View Homes under the direction of Mid-Step Services for the past 30+ years. Jeff was very proud of his work in the print shop at Mid-Step Services.
Jeff enjoyed fishing and camping which he learned from his dad; enjoyed painting which he learned from his mom; riding his bicycle in the neighborhood and loved good food. Jeff and his mom enjoyed many road trips together often traveling to the Black Hills which they loved to visit. He had been active in the Special Olympics. Jeff was loved by everyone that knew him.
Jeff is survived by three siblings: Chris Jensen (Beth Harms) of Sioux City, IA, Sue (Guy) Kroger of Sioux City, IA and Kathie Cox (Adam Spindell) of West St. Paul, MN; and five nieces and nephews: Chaya Conrad, Michael (Christina) Gormally, Jessica Gormally, Julian Spindell and Henry Spindell.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Park View Homes in care of Mid-Step Services.
Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
