Lois E. Bjork, 93, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
 
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Doug Collins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
 
Lois was born Feb. 2, 1924 in Sioux City to James H. and Gertrude Engebrigtson. She graduated from Central High School in 1942 and attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis for two years.
 
On Nov. 12, 1949 she married Roy A. Bjork in Sioux City. Together they raised three sons.
 
Lois worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone for 10 years. She then worked for Younkers as a seamstress in their drapery department for 15 years. She also enjoyed her job at Nutrition Village where she worked for several years.  
 
Lois was very interested in politics and worked at the voting polls for many years. She was active in church work where she taught Sunday school and was involved with youth work. Lois traveled extensively by herself – anywhere a bus or plane could take her. She also enjoyed sewing for work and pleasure.
 
Survivors include her sons, Dr. James Bjork of Dakota Dunes, SD, Thomas (Sally) Bjork of Sioux City and Paul (Cindy) Bjork of Urbandale, IA; 9 grandchildren, Amy (Rob), Andrea (Jason), Audra (Troy), Alanna (fiancé, Fred), Melanie (Jack), Andrew, Matthew, Benjamin and Kaitlyn; and 7 great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy Bjork who died Oct. 26, 2003, two brothers and a sister.
