HARLA JEAN GOSCH, 77, of Sioux City, IA entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.
Harla, daughter of Harland and Jimmie Nelson, was born November 19, 1939, in Sioux City. She was raised in Sioux City and attended Heelan High School.
Harla was united in marriage to Elmer “Slim” Gosch. Harla and Slim made their home in Ute, IA for seven years and then lived in the Sioux City area. Harla was a homemaker. Slim passed away on May 27, 1994 and Harla continued living in her home in Sioux City.
Harla enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and cards, and quilting. Above all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Over the years, Harla endured many things but she was one of the strongest women anyone could have ever known.
Harla is survived by her children: Tracy Helmhold of Colorado, Michelle Davies of Sioux City, IA and Trent (Nicole) Gosch of Sioux City, IA; seven grandchildren: Brandy Helmhold, Kayla (Matt Mannion) Helmhold, Laura Longwell, Larry Longwell III, Kenidi Valladolid, Kingston Gosch and Kruse Gosch; four great grandchildren: Paige Helmhold, Alyssa Hogan, Alexie Skelton and Amelia Mannion; one sister, Cathy Greiner of Sioux City, IA; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and one brother-in-law.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd., in Sioux City. Burial will follow at St. Clair Cemetery, Ute, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
