DAKOTA DUNES, SD | Rosemarie Ann Huse, 82, of Dakota Dunes passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at a local hospital. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Dakota Dunes with Rev. Joe Vogel officiating. There will be a prayer service at 10:15 a.m. led by the Catholic Daughters of The Americas at the church. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Rosemarie was born July 31, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Trawlicki) Kuszewski. She grew up in Milwaukee where she attended Holy Rosary Grade School, Riverside High School and St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. Rosemarie worked as an R.N. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee and as a surgical nurse at Stanislaus County Hospital in Modesto, CA. She also worked in Occupational Health Nursing at General Motors, Square D and Chrysler Corporations. On Nov. 29, 1958 she married John J. Huse. Jack was the son of Joseph and Agnes Huse of Jackson, Nebr. The couple lived in England, Milwaukee, WI and Kokomo, IN before John’s retirement in 1982 and then went full-time rv’ing and traveled the U.S. for 4 years. They then lived in Pahrump, NV and Sun City, AZ before moving to North Sioux City, SD in 1998. Rosemarie was a charter member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (now St. Teresa) in Dakota Dunes where she was active in starting the music ministry and served as organist at every service for over three years. She was an active member of St. Agnes Court #687 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (Vermillion, SD) until she helped form a new Court – Our Lady of the Rosary #2560 locally. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Alumni Association. She enjoyed all arts and crafts, music – especially in singing in the St. Michael’s Choir, playing hand bells, reading and travel. Survivors include her husband, John J. “Jack” Huse of Dakota Dunes; daughter, Sandra Huse of Los Angeles, CA; son, John J. Huse II of Sioux City, IA; brothers, Joseph (Carol) Kuszewski of Lake Orion, MI and James (Mary) Kuszewski of Carmel, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Rosemarie requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Teresa building fund or a charity of choice be made.
