Marilyn J. Moore, 84, of Sioux City, IA died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, MN.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City with Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Marilyn Jean, daughter of Julius and Elsie (Dahlman) Jensen, was born July 13, 1932 in Sioux City, IA. Marilyn was baptized on August 28, 1932 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hinton, IA. She was raised on a farm south of Hinton and attended country school in James through eighth grade. After eighth grade, she attended and graduated from Hinton High School.
On May 8, 1951, Marilyn was united in marriage to Wesley Dierking and Wesley passed away unexpectedly in January of 1952.
Marilyn married Ralph Moore on February 17, 1957. She was a homemaker and they resided in Leeds (Sioux City) for over three decades. Ralph passed away on October 9, 2009.
Marilyn was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church and was very active in the church. She taught Sunday school, was a vacation Bible school teacher and served on the Altar Guild, Circle and Ladies Aid.
Marilyn is survived by daughters: Julie Carey and Jeanie Jones (John); sons: Stuart Moore (Sheryll), Mark Moore (Shawnda) and Kyle Moore (Tracy); 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Lyle Jensen (Gwen); sister, Bonnie Lang (Maynard); nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son-in-law, Douglas Carey and one sister, Kathleen Jensen.
