Eleanor R. Savage, 89, formerly of Dakota Dunes died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at a care facility in Waukee, IA.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Eleanor R. Savage, daughter of Henry A. and Lenora R. (King) Ozenberger, was born October 10, 1927, in St. Joseph, MO. She grew up and attended school in St. Joe.
On March 31, 1950, Eleanor was united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” L. Savage in Kansas City, MO. This union was blessed with three children: William, Debra and Cynthia. With Joe’s job, the family moved to various communities in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. In recent years, Eleanor made her home in Dakota Dunes. Joe passed away on August 2, 2009. In June of 2016, Eleanor moved to Johnston, IA.
Eleanor was a homemaker and enjoyed golfing and traveling. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Eleanor is survived by one son, W.M. (Elise) Savage; one daughter, Cindy (Russ) Riessen; son-in-law, Michael Oliver; two granddaughters: Heidi (Doug) Mizer and Haley Crowson; and four great grandchildren: Payton, Julian and Griffin Mizer and Madison Crowson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; and daughter, Debra Jo Oliver.
