Harold K. Ronnfeldt

March 22, 1931 — March 30, 2017

Harold K. Ronnfeldt, 86 of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at a local nursing facility. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements.
Harold was born on March 22, 1931 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm in rural Hubbard, Nebraska by his grandparents Pete and Augusta "Gusty" (Harrigfeld). He received his education in the Emerson/Hubbard public schools before enlisting in the Army. After spending time in Germany as an MP, he returned to the states and enrolled in an auto body repair program at a trade school in Seattle, Washington. Harold married, Elizabeth “Betty” Brensnan on October 21, 1954 and together they raised 3 children. He enjoyed his body and fender repair career for almost 30 years at A&B Body Shop in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He was a proud member of the Eagles, and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. Harold enjoyed collecting several items, especially brass, bicycles, Hot Wheels Cars, and radios, and could often be found enjoying flea markets, rummage sales, and especially auctions. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, taking a special interest in the Santee, Nebraska area, where he built, and the family still enjoys, a fishing cabin. Harold's favorite past time during retirement was spending time with his grandchildren, Mary and John. He was a very special Grandpa and provided a life time of wonderful memories for his grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his daughter Sue Dykstra, and son Peter Ronnfeldt of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and son Joe, and his wife Cece, of Sioux City, Iowa; and grandchildren Mary and John.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Betty in 2010.
