Shane R. Johnson

Shane R. Johnson, 38, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at a local hospital.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 4600 Hamilton Blvd., with Pastor Ryan Dowell Baum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements. 

Shane Robert Johnson, son of Jimmy Johnson, Sr. and Donna (Clausen) Johnson, was born July 17, 1978 in Sioux City, IA.  Shane grew up and attended school in Sioux City.  He then worked various jobs and since 2011 has worked as a welder at FIMCO.

On May 24, 1997, Shane was united in marriage to Stacy Broyhill in South Sioux City, NE.  This union was blessed with four sons: Michael, Nicholas, Taylor and Jacob.

Shane enjoyed welding and working on cars.  Above all, he enjoyed being involved with his sons various activities which included wrestling, baseball, football and Scouts.  In addition, they also enjoyed camping.

Shane will be remembered by being a goofball and being able to bring a smile to everyone’s face no matter the situation.  He was always willing to help anyone and even in death, his giving continues as his donation of tissues will touch the lives of many people.

Shane is survived by his wife, Stacy; four sons: Michael, Nicholas, Taylor and Jacob; three brothers and one sister: Jimmy (Theresa Aguiar) Johnson, Johnny (Jessica) Johnson, Terry Johnson and Veronica Johnson; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Shane was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
