Beverly Ann Turek, 86, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home after a 4 month illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Daniel Rupp will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday with a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd., Sioux City, IA 51104.
Beverly was born December 30, 1930 in Sac City, IA; she was the daughter of Clarence and Myrle (Ware) Tiberghien. The family moved to Sioux City when Beverly was a child and she lived all of her life here. Beverly graduated from Central High School in 1949. She married Ernest Turek August 23, 1958 in Sioux City, he passed away on May 30, 2000 in Sioux City.
Beverly was a teacher aide at the Hoover Middle School for 33 years retiring in 2000.
She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Beverly was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Siouxland Duplicate Bridge Club. She enjoyed fishing and dancing in her early years and regularly attended the Siouxland Center for Active Generations.
Survivors include her 2 children: Catherine M. Turek of Durango, CO, Dr. Robert J. Turek and his wife Lisa of Harrisville, MI; her grandson: Dr. Drew McClure of San Jose, CA; her sister: Brenda Clark of Hamilton, OH.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, her son James Turek, her brothers Vernon Tiberghien, Gary Clark and Fay Clark, her sister Jean Fick and a granddaughter Samantha McClure.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Siouxland Center for Active Generations or the Siouxland Duplicate Bridge Club.
