Harold “Hobo” Olson, 65, of South Sioux City, NE died Monday, March 20, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Skien Lutheran Church, Albaton, IA (rural Sloan, IA). Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Hobo was born August 23, 1951 in Sioux City, IA and was a lifelong resident of the Sioux City area. Over the years, he worked in agriculture and was a bridge builder.
Hobo loved everything about motorcycles especially his 1942 Knucklehead and his 88. He also enjoyed partying and the pretty girls. Everyone will remember Hobo by seeing him riding his Harley down the road and dancing. In later years, Hobo found Jesus and now is dancing at Jesus’ feet with a smile on his face.
Hobo is survived by his wife, Arlyne Tompkins; son, Shane Olson; five brothers; four sisters; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Julie Strom and Mary Mather.
