Patrocinio Alvizo, 57 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at a local hospital following a brief battle with cancer. A Celebration Of Life Service will be at 3:30 p.m. today, Saturday, March 18th, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with visitation starting at 2:30. www.meyerbroschapels.com Patrocinio was born on August 11, 1959 in Zapotlenejo, Jalisco, Mexcio, to Santiago Alvizo and Maria Silva. He was raised in Mexico until 1975 when he moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Patrocinio was a laborer in the agricultural industry, working for Tyson for 21 years. He was a dedicated family man, and found his greatest pride in his children, step-children, and extended family.
Patrocinio is survived by his Common-Law wife of 13 years, Carol Babcock of Sioux City; sons Lesandro and Tomas Alvizo of Sioux City, Jose, Santiago, Lupe, Federico, and Diego Alvizo of Zapotlenejo, Jalisco, Mexico; daughters Esmeralda, Dalila, and Sandra Alvizo of Zapotlenejo, Jalisco, Mexico; step-daughter Shania Babcock of Sioux City; step-sons Brady Babcock and Dean Kinnaman of Sioux City; brother Athena Gutierrez-Ayon of Yankton, South Dakota; and his parents Santiago and Maria of Mexico.
Patrocinio was preceded in death by three children of Mexico.
