Bonita Krohn

September 8, 1944 — March 1, 2017

Bonita Louise Krohn, 72 of Sergeant Bluff, IA passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at a local care facility surrounded by family.

All services will be held at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Donald Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 - 8:00pm with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Prayer service will be at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30am with the burial and luncheon to follow. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bonnie was born September 8, 1944 in Norfolk, NE. She was the daughter of Ted and Hazel (Meyers) Wolfgram. Bonnie grew up in Madison, NE and graduated from Madison High School in 1962. She came to Sioux City to attend National Business Training School.

On October 4, 1964, Bonnie married Jim Krohn in Madison, NE. She was a devoted wife and together they raised three sons, Mike, Bill and Matt.

Bonnie was a civil service employee for a total of 47 years. She worked with the Corp of Engineers, the Air Force at the Sioux City Airport, and then with the Internal Revenue Service until her retirement.

Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family, and making sure everyone was taken care of. She could often be heard cheering on her children and grandchildren at local sporting events. She was a longtime member of Morningside Assembly of God Church where she was a sponsor and leader for the Missionettes Youth Program for over 25 years.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jim Krohn; three children: Mike Krohn and his wife, Lisa, of Sergeant Bluff, Bill Krohn and his wife, Alicia, of Lawton, and Matt Krohn and his wife, Kelsey, of Sergeant Bluff; nine grandchildren: Andy, Austin, Kelsey, Shelby, Piper, Chloe, Drake, Reece and Millie; a brother Robert Wolfgram of Omaha, NE, an aunt, Alice Leighton of Griswold, IA, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Shirley Holmberg.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Countryside Retirement Home for the excellent care provided to Bonnie.
