Wallace H. “Bud” Rasmussen, 82 of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at a Hospice facility in Chandler, Arizona. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with visitation, with the family present, beginning at 5:00 p.m. A private family entombment will be on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to a Hospice organization.
Bud died peacefully surrounded by his family. He graduated from Leeds High School in 1953. Married Joyce (Olsen) on February 27, 1954. He was the President of Midwest Products in Sioux City, IA. After moving to Phoenix, he was in security at St. Joe's Hospital. The love of his life was his wife of 63 years, Bud loved and enjoyed his family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing and camping in his early years. Bud was active in Boy Scouts. He was an Eagle Scout who later became a scout master. He was with the Shrine Provost Marshall Unit.
Bud is survived by his wife Joyce; children Bill (Marilyn) Rasmussen of Sioux City, IA, Don (Kristi) Rasmussen of Dickinson, ND, Lisa (Mark) Beadles of Phoenix, AZ and Rick (Kim) Rasmussen of Sioux City, IA; 13 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren; sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sophie Rasmussen, and a brother Bob.
