Joyce lived a full and happy life. She had a fun sense of humor and was always up for an adventure. Joyce was very proud of her Swedish heritage and had wonderful memories of growing up in Yankton. At the age of 22, she married the love of her life R. Sam Krage. They raised their six children in Sioux City. Joyce’s greatest blessing was her 65 year marriage to Sam. Joyce and Sam entertained for 50 plus years with picnics at the “little red house” on the family acreage. She had a sincere fondness for animals whether it was feeding an infant fox or raccoon with an eye dropper; hauling a pig or a swan in the back seat of the car or caring for her beloved standard poodles Maggie and Mimi. Joyce painted landscapes for years resulting in many wonderful pieces, enjoyed bridge club with friends and traveling with family. Joyce took hundreds of photos that chronicled the family history which she cherished until the end of her life.
She is survived by her children Jack Krage of Sioux City, Tom (Susan) Krage of Westminister, CO, Stephen (Veronica) Krage of Sioux City, Joy (Brad) Johnson of Douglas, WY, Sam (Brenda) Krage of Pueblo, CO, Paula (Igor) Serbinin of Boulder, CO; her grandchildren April (Ryan) Kasperbauer, Allison Krage, Brett (Rachel) Krage, Ashley (Nick) Toombs, Eric Krage, Victoria, Abigail and Garrett Krage , Lydia and Nina Serbinin; great grandchildren Griffin and Ella Kasperbauer and Cash and Max Toombs; her sister-in-laws Joanne Steinback, Joan Krage, Jeanette Krage, Marilyn Higgins, Barbara Nicknish and Mary Alice Swanson; her brother-in-law’s Ron Krage, Colonel Krage, Bob Higgins and Chuck Swanson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
