Angeles was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on May 31, 1929 to Francisco Flores and Maria Rodriquez. She was united in marriage to Carmelo Burgos on February 25, 1946. She stayed in Puerto Rico while her husband served in the Army during WWII. Upon his return, the whole family moved to New York City where they settled in the Bronx. Her most interesting story on flying over the ocean for the first time was the plane being hit by lightning and dropping so much they had to land in New Jersey due to the lightning storm. Angeles was an excellent seamstress by trade making beautiful wedding dresses. After spending many years in New York, she and her husband decided to retire back to Puerto Rico.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Erna Kirwan of Sioux City, Jose Burgos of New York City and Rose Caceres of Sioux City; grandchildren: Tina (Red) Mulvihill of Sioux City, Tracy (Shannon) Braun of Shakopee, MN, Edwin Caceres Jr. of Fremont, NE and Jennifer Caceres of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Tanner, Mya and Madison Braun, Aaron and Abby Mulvihill, Bentley Caceres and Chevy Caceres and Vanessa Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son-in-law, Paul Kirwan.
