Bob was born Aug. 17, 1942 in Smithland, IA. He was the son of Harold and Dorothy (Uhl) Fester and was raised on the family farm.
On Feb. 11, 1961 he married Rosemary Earley in Sioux City. Together they raised four children.
Bob started his career as a sheet metal worker with Kalins Indoor Comfort. After retirement from C.W. Suter, he indulged in his love of fishing and camping. If his tackle wasn't in his hands, he could be found in his workshop, being creative through woodworking or automotive projects. Bob will be remembered through treasures he created, and mechanical knowledge he shared. Most of all, Papa Bob adored his grandkids and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the sheet metal workers union.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of nearly 56 years; children, Gary (Joanne) Fester of Sioux City, Tim (Andrea) Fester of Jefferson, IA, Bobbie (Darin) Speichinger of Sioux City and Kathie (Mike) Church of Sioux City; aunt, Maryann Howland of Council Bluffs, IA; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way; and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to his family.
