Sharen R. Larson, 76 of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at her residence comforted by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Michael Cronin as Celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 12th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the family present at 6:00 p.m.
Sharen was born on February 7, 1940 in Hawarden, Iowa to Leo L. and Mary Elma (McGloghlen) Comstock. She received her education in the Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Central High School. Sharen married Ronald “Ron” C. Larson on September 5, 1958 in Groten, Connecticut. Her career was in Recovery Services, helping many women in recovery as she was an Alcohol/Addiction Technician. Sharen was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with camping, bird-watching, and outdoor activities.
Sharen is survived by her husband Ron of Sioux City; children Lori Wright and her husband Curt of Nebraska, Lance Larson and his wife Sue of Sioux City, Lonn Larson and his wife Lori of Minnesota, Linda Larson, and her daughter Jaiden, of Sioux City, Leann Henkel and her husband Brad of Sioux City, Leif Larson and his wife Tracy of Sioux City, and Lake Larson and his wife Brandi of Sioux City; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Sharen was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 5 sisters.
