Maxine Alice Miller, 92 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday with the family present from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. There will be a Rosary recited at 6:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Monday all at the Church.

Maxine was born July 1, 1924 n Oto, IA; she was the daughter of Joseph Francis and Myrtle (Gallup) O’Meara. Maxine graduated from Oto High School in 1942.
She married Merle W. Miller on July 18, 1948 in Sioux City. Together they lived on So. Casselman Street for many years. Merle passed away on July 14, 1995 in Sioux City. Maxine was employed by Three Sisters Clothing store in Sioux City for 36 years as a sales clerk. She was a very active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, greeting people at Mass, working funeral dinners and salad luncheons. She also volunteered at the Soup Kitchen serving and preparing meals. She was an avid reader.
Maxine entered into assisted living at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in 2008 and remained there for the rest of her life.Survivors include her grandson: Jared Hatling; three nieces: Sue O’Meara of North Sioux City, Maggie (O’Meara) Locke and her husband Larry of Sioux City and Kathleen (O’Meara) Middaugh of Sioux City.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gerald Francis Bowman, her husband Merle, a sister Pauline (O’Meara) Sherman and 2 brothers: Thomas Grant O’Meara and Vernon Francis O’Meara.
