Sioux City, IA – Richard D. Krueger, 85, of Sioux City died Thursday, December 29, 2016, at a local care center.

Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Private burial will be held at Logan Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Richard Dale Krueger, son of Edward and Minnie (Mathwig) Krueger, was born April 10, 1931 in Fort Dodge, IA.  Richard was raised and attended school in the Hinton area.

In February of 1950, Richard was united in marriage to Beverly Brooks in Hinton, IA.  To this union three children were born: Alice, Rick, and Ray.

Richard farmed in Plymouth County, IA until the early 1960’s when the family moved to Sioux City.  He worked for the Sioux City Public Works until retiring in 1993.

Richard enjoyed camping, riding his bike and coffee time with his friends.  He was a member of the Foresters Camping Club.

Richard is survived by his children: Alice (Greg) Meyer of Sioux City, Rick Krueger and friend Lark of Hinton, IA, and Ray (Mary) of Alamogordo, NM; grandchildren: Rebecca (Matt) Fesler of Aberdeen, SD, Shaun Meyer of Sioux City, Shane Krueger and friend Trish of Bronson, IA, Casey Krueger of California, Shawna (Chris) Sward of Sioux City, Polli (Kevin) Kenn of Lawrence, KS, and Keri (Devin) Mack of Alamogordo, NM; great grandchildren: Emily, Josh, Molly, Kyle, Shannon, Mason, Devin, Colton, Fletcher, Noah, and Lilly.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; and a granddaughter, Erin.

Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
