Sioux City, IA – Cynthia A. “Cindy” Davis, 64, of Sioux City died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at a local care center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. R. Paul Johnston, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday with a prayer service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Davis, daughter of Wesley A. and Ethel I. (Johnson) Davis, was born May 11, 1952 in Sioux City, IA. Cindy was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1970. During her senior year, she was active in the office education association program and she worked at Iowa Leather. After graduating, she continued her employment at Iowa Leather for eighteen years. She then started working in the office at Siouxland Recovery and has continued with them for the past twenty-eight years.
Cindy loved NASCAR, enjoyed collecting owls and stuffed animals. Above all, she enjoyed getting together with her family and her nieces and nephews meant so much to her.
Cindy is survived by four sisters and one brother: Shirley McLeod of Sioux City, IA, Janice Kipf of Oklahoma City, OK, Sharon (Richard) Karrer, Pamela (Kevin) Cook, and Ronald (Nancy) Davis all of Sioux City, IA; godchildren: Justin (Ericka) Stultz of Surprise, AZ, Jarod (Ricki) Stultz of Mesa, AZ, Jessica (Edwin) Suaza of Estherville, IA, Tanner Cook of Sioux City, IA and Taylor Cook of West Des Moines, IA; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; one sister, Marsha DenHartog; one brother-in-law, Richard Kipf; one nephew, Dallas McLeod and one niece, Connie Turner.
The family wishes to acknowledge Siouxland Recovery, Hospice of Siouxland, Westwood Care and her lifetime friend, Nadine Dutler for their care of our sister.
