Ethel May Baltzer

Ethel May (Foreman) Baltzer, 93, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Monday December 26, 2016 at a Sergeant Bluff nursing home.
 
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nassau Township Cemetery in Alton, Iowa.
 
Ethel May (Foreman) Baltzer was born March 10, 1923 on the family farm east of Alton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Michael and Ella (Vande Berg) Foreman. Ethel graduated from Sheldon High School in 1941. On December 2, 1944 she married Wilbert L. Baltzer in Glendale. They lived together in Burbank, CA and Topeka. KS before retiring to Las Vegas, NV. After Wilberts death in 2007, Ethel returned to Iowa and lived in Sioux City. She was baptized in the Christian faith and was for many years an active member in the Presbyterian Church. Ethel
enjoyed knitting and for several years operated a Knit Shop in Topeka, KS. She was also very skilled in furniture refinishing and restoration.

Ethel had five brothers who preceded her in death; 
Richard (Rich) Foreman and wife Josephine, Henry (Hank) Foreman and wife Elizabeth, Willard (Barney) Foreman and wife Jean, Lloyd (Bub) Foreman and wife Dorthea, and Donald (Doc) Foreman and wife Arlee.

Ethel leaves one surviving son, David Baltzer and his wife Suzi. She leaves one surviving 
granddaughter, Jennifer Baltzer-Lovato and husband Luis, and two great-grandchildren; Matthew and Brianna. Ethel also loved and cherished her many nieces and nephews; Robert (Bob) Foreman (deceased), Donna Vaselaar and husband Charles, Rex Foreman and wife Eileen, Richard Foreman and wife Lorraine, Jane Brown and husband Randy, Harold Foreman
and wife Brenda, Leroy Foreman (deceased), Bonnie Roder, Eleanor Westhoff, Donald Foreman, Rodney Foreman, Scott Foreman and wife Irene, Sandra Foreman, Sheryl Godfrey and husband Gerald, Michael Foreman and wife Maureen, Dean Foreman (deceased), Gary Foreman, Larry Foreman, and Alan Foreman. She will be greatly missed by all these family members. Her smile and humor warmed all our hearts.
