Don A. Waderich

SIOUX CITY, IA | Don A. Waderich, 70, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at his home.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Rev. David Zirpel of Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Don was born Aug. 12, 1946 in Ute, Iowa. He was the son of August and Bernice (Passick) Waderich. He graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1964 and attended body and fender school in Council Bluffs. Don served in with the U.S. Army Reserve from 1964 until 1971.

Don married Karen Miller in June, 1965 and together they raised 3 children. He later married Joyce Zeisler and was an active step-father to her 4 sons.

Don worked at I.B.P./Tyson and retired in 2007 after working over 25 years there. He also worked at several side businesses including roofing, siding, rental property management and helping at a family friend’s farm.

Don enjoyed going to auctions, golfing, traveling, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Bernice Waderich of Sioux City; 3 children John (Candace) Waderich of Moville, IA, Mindi (Kevin) Boyle of Manning, IA and Suzi (Billy) Wabashaw of Moville, IA; sister, Joanne Sykora of Sioux City; 4 step sons, Jason Zeisler of Renner, SD, Justin (Carol) Zeisler of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph (Jessica) Zeisler and Zachary (Olga) Zeisler all of Omaha, NE; 8 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Lorraine.
