Patricia S Heffernan

Patricia S. Heffernan, 84 of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home after a long illness.

The funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. William J. Vit, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Patricia was born September 25, 1932 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Everett and Helen (Corcoran) Dow. Her family lived in California for a short time and then moved back to Sioux City. Patricia graduated from Heelan High School and she attended WIT.

Patricia had been married to Mark Heffernan who is now deceased.

Patricia worked at Aalf’s Manufacturing and at J.C. Penney.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church while living in rural Dakota City, NE and was presently a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Patricia had also been a member of a Garden Club.

Survivors include her daughter: Kathy Heffernan of Westminster, CO; a sister: Doreen Copeland of Burlington, IA and a brother Terry Dow (Joni) of San Jose, CA; 1 granddaughter: Hillary Hughes and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Connie Hughes and a sister Bonnie Dow.
