Margaret J. Kott

Margaret J. (Corey) Kott, 94 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at a local care facility.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Thomas Orthodox Church. Rev. Lucas Rice will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 P.M. all at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Margaret was born July 6, 1922 in Millboro, SD; she was the daughter of Nick and Marina (Abdouch) Corey. Margaret grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska before coming to Sioux City.

Margaret had been married to Alex Kott.

She owned and operated her own beauty shop and also bought and sold real estate. Margaret was also a care giver to her family and anyone who needed her help. Her life was devoted to her work and spending time with her brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.

Margaret was a longtime member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church. She loved to entertain, cook gourmet meals and play cards.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her 10 brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Orthodox Church.
