Sioux City, IA – Daniel Charles Kurtz, 68, of Sioux City, IA died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at a Sioux City hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father William J. Vit officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Daniel Charles, son of Charles John and Loyola Ruth (Miller) Kurtz, was born January 31, 1948 in Sioux City.
Daniel grew up and attended school in Sioux City. He graduated from Heelan High School in 1967. He worked at Swift Meat Packing in Sioux City until he had to quit due to health problems. In recent years, he made his home at Casa De Paz.
Daniel enjoyed working with his hands which included art projects and writing in Calligraphy. In addition, he enjoyed singing. Daniel was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sisters: Bridget Kurtz and Genevieve Kurtz both of Sioux City; two nephews: Andrew Kurtz and Charles Kaufman both of Sioux City; several cousins; other relatives and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
