Gary G. Bryne, 77 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN following a brief illness.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, 2521 W 4th ST. Rev. Steve Niles will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday with the family present from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Gary was born July 17, 1939 in Sioux City; he was the son of Carl S. and Fern A. (Erickson).
Gary grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools having graduated from Central High School in 1958. He began working in the grocery business at Schwartz’s Grocery as a teenager. Gary then went into car sales and was a partner in Butler-Bryne Used Cars which later became Bryne Used Cars. In the 1980’s, Gary was the manager for several other Sioux City car dealers. He later worked for Color Tile and then was the manager of the Southern Hills Hy-Vee Gas Station until his retirement in April of 2014.
Gary married Mary Smithey and later married his current wife, Patricia “Pat” Moulton in 1976. He was a fan of NASCAR racing and loved spending time with his family, his friends, and his cat Tommy.
Survivors include his wife Patricia “Pat” Bryne of Sioux City, his mother: Fern Bryne of Sioux city; 3 sons: Craig Bryne of Dallas, TX, Kirk Bryne and his fiancé Erika Jurek formerly of Sioux City, Paul Speidel and his wife Jodi of Sioux City; 7 grandchildren: Nikki Lefebvre, Ashley Bryne, Megan Nelson, Calub Bryne, Kirk Bryne, Devaney Speidel and Callahan Speidel; 4 great grandchildren: Breannah Bryne, Sam Lefebvre, Layla Wainwright and Grayson Branscum.
Gary was preceded in death by his father.
