SIOUX CITY | Donna Marie Lewis, 84, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Donna was born Dec. 15, 1931 in Crofton, NE. She was the daughter of Anton G. and Rose M. (Korth) Schumacher. Donna has lived in Sioux City since the age of 12.
On February 14, 1954 she married Robert Earl Lewis in Sioux City. Together they raised four children. Bob passed away on Nov. 2, 2008 in Sioux City.
Donna was a longtime, active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was past president of the Ladies of Laselette of the church.
Donna enjoyed needlepoint. She embroidered baby blankets for each of her grandkids. She also enjoy baking and reading.
Survivors include her children, Michael Lewis of Sioux City, Rochele (Phil) Corio, Lynette (Rick) Rockwell all of Jefferson, SD and Tim (Susan) Lewis of Casselberry, FL; brother, Larry (Donna) Schumacher of Sioux City; sisters, Velma Ludwig of Sioux City, Corene (Joe) Pritchett of Minneapolis, MN and Helen Scott of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Charles, Harley and Orville Schumacher; and nephew, Brian Shumacher.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Tim, Chris and Nick Lewis, Brent and Janet Corio and Brian Rockwell.
Memorials may be made in her name to Trinity Heights.
