Patricia Christensen, 75, of Sioux City, Iowa, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, October 28, 2016, at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Westlawn Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, where the family will be present from 6 PM to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. Patricia K., daughter of Vernon and Vivian (Kirkpatrick) Niven, was born January 28, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City and is a graduate of Central High School and Morningside College with a teaching degree. She then taught until she became a stay-at-home mother. When she returned to work, Pat was a manager at Arrow Stage Lines and then worked with Rosenthal Food Corp., retiring in 2013.

Pat was married to Nelson Summersett and he passed away on December 20, 1966. Pat was blessed with a second marriage, this time with LeRoy Christensen on April 12, 1968, at Westlawn Presbyterian Church. A daughter Julie was born to this union. LeRoy passed away on May 7, 1997.

Pat was a very active and longtime member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Session Member. She enjoyed reading and traveling to Arizona to visit her brother. Pat was a devoted mother and daughter; caring for her mother for many years.

Pat is survived by a daughter Julie Christensen of Sioux City and her special friend Brandon Root of Virginia; two brothers: Donald (Pattie) Niven of Lincoln, NE and Dennis (Becky) Niven of Scottsdale, AZ; a brother-in-law Chuck (Judy) Christensen of Arlington, SD; and her mother-in-law Berdell Christensen of Arlington, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Vivian Niven; two husbands Nelson Summersett and LeRoy Christensen; and an infant brother Kirk Patrick.
