Brian M. Gallardo

LE MARS, Iowa | Brian M. Gallardo, 36, of Le Mars, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, in Indio, Calif., from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Blessed Sacrament School. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Brian, the son of Marlene and Jack Gallardo, was born on May 12, 1980. He became a big brother to his sister, Shawna Gallardo in 1984. Brian and ex-wife, Trishia Gill, are the proud parents of Dylan, Alexis, Natalie, Briena and Isabel Gallardo of Jackson Neb. Dylan lived with his father in Le Mars over the past year. Son, Thaddeus Schiltz, was born on Oct. 13, 2016.

Brian first and foremost loved his children. They were his everything. Though Brian appeared to be Mr. Tough Guy, one of his greatest joys was to cuddle up with his children and watch movies. Many people over the years who had car trouble on the side of the road were helped by Brian. More often than not, the needs of a friend or stranger were more important than his own.

Brian had a love of motorcycles and enjoyed the company of those of kindred spirit including his half brother, Aaron Gallardo. He had many happy memories with his lifelong friend, Billy Rose, his second "mom", Carol Rose, and stand-in dads, Dennis Rose and Mark Koenck, both of whom shared Brian's love of hunting and fishing. Brian's infectious laughter and big heart will be missed by all who knew him well.

Brian was preceded in death by grandparents, Arnold and Kathryn Fiedler, and Gloria Bello; half brother, Baby Jack; and cousins, Stacie Fiedler and Corey Campbell.
