Sioux City, IA | Corrine A. Clay, 78, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
 
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Rev. Dann Speichinger officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the ceremony, with a luncheon after. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Condolences may be offered online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
 
Corrine was born March 7, 1938 in Sioux City the daughter of Verne and Florence (Wyant) Moulton. She graduated from East High School in 1956 and was a proud member of the East High cheerleading squad.
 
On July 28, 1956 she married Norman L. Clay in South Sioux City, NE. Norm affectionately referred to her as “Corky”. Together they raised four children. Corrine dedicated her life to caring for her family, especially their son, Tom who was one of the original participants in the STARS equine therapy program in Sioux City.
 
Corrine and Norm were two of the original founding members of Opportunities Unlimited.
 
She was a longtime member of Washington Heights Chapel and East High School’s “Girls of 56”.
 
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Norman; four children, Jeanne Clay (Randy Cottington), Carrie (Bill) Lierman, Thomas Clay, and Jodi (Travis) Mercural all of Sioux City; her mother, Florence Petersen of Sioux City; her sister, Beverly Whitsel of Sioux City; nine grandchildren: Jade Otterson, Audrey Otterson, Eric Duchossois, Lyndsay Lierman, Kyle Lierman, Chrystian Mollet, Lily Mercural, Adalyne Mercural and Ainsley Mercural; and three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kasia Mary and Noah; and nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her father, Verne Moulton Sr.; brother, Verne Moulton Jr.; and step-father Johnny Petersen.
 
Pallbearers will be Kyle Lierman, Eric Duchossois, Chrystian Mollet, Bill Lierman, Randy Cottington and Travis Mercural. Honorary pallbearers will be Jade Otterson, Audrey Otterson, Lyndsay Lierman and Lily Mercural.
 
Memorials may be made in her name to STARS (Special Troopers Adaptive Riding School), Hospice of Siouxland, or Opportunities Unlimited.
